Easy and Speedy Galaxy Nails!

Hello everyone! Once again, long time no speak. I have just been so busy with work. Tonight I was going to do my nails for breast cancer awareness month but sadly it was too dark for me to take photos. Hopefully I can get a few posts prepared at the weekend for the coming weeks. Today is just a simple manicure, the fastest galaxy nails ever!

I started with a base of Essence – Galactic Black then sponged Collection – Hello Sailor! And Essence – Where is the Party? on randomly. Finally I sponged on a little bit of Rimmel – Disco Ball and Andrea Fulerton’s Gemstone Overcoat. As simple as that! It really didn’t take very long because the sponge doesn’t apply much product so it pretty much dries instantly. I added a coat of topcoat just to even things out.

By the way, I am sorry about the slight tip wear and occasional tip, I sadly didn't get the chance to photograph these until the second day of wear!

I hope you enjoyed this quick post. Thank you for reading!

Copper'ize Me Layered Over Red!

Hello everyone! Today is another manicure that I did a couple of weeks ago because I am putting off showing you my now massacred nails.

Sadly after a couple more broke, I couldn’t deal with them all being different lengths and cut them all down to the length of the shortest nail. They literally couldn’t be any shorter. I hate them so much but sometimes that’s the way it goes, they will grow back!

All I did was start off with a base of Revlon’s Valentine then added a couple of coats of Essence Special Effect Topper in Copper’ise Me.

I absolutely love this combination! I love the way that the gold shimmer stands out against the red and how the blue glitter contrasts against the base colour. It also looks great matte but I didn’t show that here because my matte top coat has started drying with white bits on for no reason. Maybe it’s just getting old.

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

Fantasy Fire Layering

Hello! These are the nails that I have been wearing for the last few days. I knew that I wanted something glittery and fun to wear on results day to cheer me up if things went wrong!

I used many many coats of polish to create this look but I think it was worth it. The pictures don’t quite capture how amazing it looked in real life! Barry M – Indigo was the base colour then I layered Essence – Confetti and Copper’ize Me over the top. Two coats of Max Factor Fantasy Fire added that gorgeous red/green shimmer and changed the colours of the glitter slightly. Then finally I added two coats of Sally Hansen Mega Shine.

I apologise that I haven’t blogged for a few days but I have been very busy and not really in the mood. I will try to blog more regularly now though! Thank you for reading.

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 10 Gradient

Gradient nails! In the last few months gradient nails have become extremely popular, especially when Sammy from the Nailasaurus posted her fabulous tutorial which made it even easier for people to do the gradient manicure even with creme polishes!

I have tried to do a gradient with creme polishes several times but it has never turned out very well. I will keep trying though!

For today’s manicure I did a simple nude to blue gradient with some glitter to help tie it all together. I really like how it turned it! I can’t decide if it looks more like a starry sky or ice. If you had longer nails than me, you could do it so that the blue is just on the tip of your nail like more of a French manicure. Enjoy!

I started out with a base of a Color Club sheer French manicure pink then added a mixture of blue polishes with a sponge to create the basic gradient. I then added some of Color Club’s Beyond The Mistletoe and finally Revlon’s Belle.

I can’t believe how quickly this challenge is going! I am absolutely loving seeing everyone’s different designs. Come back tomorrow to see day 11 which is Metallic nails!

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 9 Red

For today’s nails I simply painted my nails with my favourite true red which is Real Red by Avon then added of China Glaze – Ring In The Red to the tips.

Here is a picture of Real Red on its own:

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 6 Glitter

Today is day 6 of Makeup Savvy’s 15 Day Nail Challenge! So far I have taken part in days 3, 4 and 5 so please have a look if you haven’t already. I was totally unsure about what to do for today. I love glitter but no ideas were coming to me so I just sat down with some polishes and this is the result!

It started out as a grey to black gradient but the sponges that I used were not reacting very well with the polish meaning that bits of sponge had stuck to my nails in places. I didn’t want to start over though so I added a coat of a dense silver glitter from No. 7 that I got in a mini set around Christmas. Although it is still a bit lumpy, the glitter and a couple of coats of top coat helped to even thinks out a little bit. It looks much smoother in real life.

I could have just used an opaque glitter and be done with it but I am trying to challenge myself to create more nail art rather than just painting my nails with simple colours. I have to admit that after the disaster of this gradient I am not looking forward to the gradient day!
