15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 14 Dots
Today’s nails are inspired by Aboriginal artwork. I wanted
to create something a bit different from typical girly polka dot nails and this
is what I came up with! I looked up various different artworks then took inspiration
from each so it isn’t based on one particular artwork, more a combination of
several mixed with my imagination.
The base colour is Rimmel – Hard Edged which I picked up in Poundland. I like the way that the shimmer contrasts with the creme finish of the dots. Polishes used for the dots were my trusty Color Club – White, Essence – A Lovely Secret, Essence – Trust In Fashion, OPI – Fiercely Fiona, OPI – Bullish On OPI, Miss Sporty – Pop Fiction and 17 – Orange Soda.
Some of the dots did smudge a little with when I applied topcoat which is a shame but not as noticeable in real life as it is in the pictures.
Please come back tomorrow to see the final day of the challenge! Thank you for reading!

15 Day Nail Challenge - Day 13 Film Inspired
I am sorry about not posting yesterday, I was extremely busy
and forgot to prepare a post. I will be participating from now until the end of
the challenge though! Today’s nails are inspired by the film Ice Age! I know
that it is aimed at children but I really like it, especially Scrat!
The white icy tip is meant to represent the ice (of course!)
and on the ring finger there is an acorn which needs no explanation!
The base colour is Barry M – Blueberry Ice Cream then I painted Color Club – White onto the tips in lines to create the feel of cracked ice. Then I sponged a tiny bit of a very light grey onto the white to give some shadow then finally added some of Colour Club – Covered in Diamonds to the white to give the effect of ice crystals!
The acorn was made on a plastic food bag with several polishes mixed together to create the correct colours. It could do with being a tiny bit smaller but overall I am happy with the outcome! It is far from perfect but I think it is quite cute.
I made the mistake of doing these nails last night and then going to bed when they weren’t fully dry which meant that the polish at the tips crinkled a little bit but this isn’t very noticeable due to the flakes of glitter!
I am looking forward to tomorrow’s theme which is dots and sadly the penultimate day of the challenge :(

15 Day Nail Challenge - Day 11 Metallic
I didn’t have much time for today’s nails so I simply painted
them with GOSH holographic! I know that this isn’t technically metallic but I
really wanted to include it in this challenge, I was going to use it for the
final day but then I had a better idea for that day so decided to use it today.
I found this polish in a clearance bin in Superdrug! It was less than ¼ full with polish and almost totally dried up and unusable. However, I had wanted it for so long and it is discontinued so I bought it anyway, even though it was £2 which I thought was steep for something that I potentially would never be able to use. I took it home and after almost 100 drops of polish thinner and a few steel balls later, this is what I was left with!
I don’t think it is actually as holographic as it was originally meant to be but it is still pretty special. It is very difficult to apply and the formula is a nightmare to work with. Additionally it shows up every single flaw in your nail particularly because it is impossible to use a regular base coat with.

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 10 Gradient
Gradient nails! In the last few months gradient nails have
become extremely popular, especially when Sammy from the Nailasaurus posted her
fabulous tutorial which made it even easier for people to do the gradient manicure
even with creme polishes!
I have tried to do a gradient with creme polishes several times but it has never turned out very well. I will keep trying though!
For today’s manicure I did a simple nude to blue gradient with some glitter to help tie it all together. I really like how it turned it! I can’t decide if it looks more like a starry sky or ice. If you had longer nails than me, you could do it so that the blue is just on the tip of your nail like more of a French manicure. Enjoy!
I started out with a base of a Color Club sheer French manicure pink then added a mixture of blue polishes with a sponge to create the basic gradient. I then added some of Color Club’s Beyond The Mistletoe and finally Revlon’s Belle.
I can’t believe how quickly this challenge is going! I am absolutely loving seeing everyone’s different designs. Come back tomorrow to see day 11 which is Metallic nails!

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 9 Red

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 8 Leopard
I loved my nails so much from yesterday that I didn’t want
to take it off for today so instead of completely removing it, I simply added
leopard print over the top with a Sharpie! I have never been very successful with
leopard print but I absolutely love this! It is quite abstract and I love the
way that everything blends together slightly.
I am sorry about the quality of some of the pictures, my camera had a massive smudge on the lens and I didn’t realise until I came to upload the pictures. Sadly my nails are no longer in a state to be photographed so these will have to do!
These nails look far better in real life but you still get the general idea from the pictures. Sadly my topcoat smudged the design a little bit but this isn’t as noticeable in real life either.

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 7 Neon
I don’t actually own any true neon polishes so instead I did
a watercolour manicure with a couple of very bright almost neon colours. This
is the first time I have tried to do this and I am quite pleased with the
results.
I started off with a base of Color Club – White then on a plastic food bag I mixed a drop of each colour polish with some nail polish thinner (I tried with acetone first but it didn’t turn out as well) then dapped it onto my nail with a little nail art brush. The colours I used were Barry M – Indigo, Barry M – Pure Turquoise, OPI – Who The Shrek Are You?, China Glaze – Papaya Punch, Rimmel - Sunshine and finally Maybelline – Hot Salsa.

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 6 Glitter
Today is day 6 of Makeup Savvy’s 15 Day Nail Challenge! So
far I have taken part in days 3, 4 and 5 so please have a look if you haven’t
already. I was totally unsure about what to do for today. I love glitter but no
ideas were coming to me so I just sat down with some polishes and this is the
result!
It started out as a grey to black gradient but the sponges that I used were not reacting very well with the polish meaning that bits of sponge had stuck to my nails in places. I didn’t want to start over though so I added a coat of a dense silver glitter from No. 7 that I got in a mini set around Christmas. Although it is still a bit lumpy, the glitter and a couple of coats of top coat helped to even thinks out a little bit. It looks much smoother in real life.
I could have just used an opaque glitter and be done with it but I am trying to challenge myself to create more nail art rather than just painting my nails with simple colours. I have to admit that after the disaster of this gradient I am not looking forward to the gradient day!

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 5 Nude
I wanted to do something a little bit different for today so
I decided to paint my nails with my favourite nude then add a sort of French tip
in the form of iridescent pink stars!
Enjoy!
I used 3 coats of my Maybelline Forever Strong in Ivory Rose then while the polish was still wet, added the pink stars to the tips of each nail.

15 Day Nail Challenge – Day 4 Galaxy
Galaxy nails! My absolute favourite nail look to date! They
are easy to do, look fantastic and there are endless colour combinations.
Without further ado here are some pictures:
I used Rimmel - Midnight Blue as my base colour (just £1 in Poundland!) then sponged on Collection 2000 – Hello Sailor!, Essence – Where Is The Party?, Essence – Choose Me!, Essence – Space Queen, Color Club – White, NYC – Prince Street, a Hello Kitty dark pink from M&S, OPI – Mediterranean Moonlight and Orly – Oui. Lastly I added some stars with Gosh – Holographic and a dotting tool.
I couldn’t resist adding a coat of a matte top coat, there is just something about matte glitter that looks fantastic. Here are the results:

15 Day Nail Challenge - Day 3 Chic
Today is day 3 of the 15 day nail challenge! It is being run
by Fee from Makeup Savvy, details can be found here. I will only be
participating on a couple of days because my blog is brand new and I have other
priorities but this seems like too much fun to pass on! Here is a list of which
theme is on which day:
I knew that for the Chic day I wanted to do something simple and classic, however it didn’t turn out quite how I wanted it to. I still like the end result but I feel like it would have been better if the accent nail was completely covered with the pearls :(
I used two coats of the base colour which is a pinky greige colour from an Accessorize nail set around Christmas time. I then placed the little half pearls individually onto the ring finger to create an accent nail. The top coat was a bit bubbly on the ring finger. I probably should have skipped top coat altogether on that nail!
I will be participating in the next couple of days at least so please come back to see my other designs! Thank you for reading!
